I am a kali/jkd instructor myself and have the Dog Brothers complete video set. This particular volume on footwork is excellent as an introduction to the subject, and also will be useful for intermediate students, too.

In the weapons arts, footwork is critical, as a slip there or misstep in distance could be fatal. He who controls the distance controls the fight, especially in the weapons arts, where a distance of an inch or less can mean the difference between life and death. I like the complete Dog Brothers set, but there is no more important a subject than footwork, and if you're not competent there, there is nothing that will hold you back more.
