Living Legends in Seasons Review

This is such a great DVD! I love the music as much as the dancing. My children thought it was boring at first, but after I kept playing it they wanted to see it too. It has so many interesting dances. BYU's Tantara Records had this available a few years ago.

There are little differences between the 2007 and 2004 versions. They seem to have the exact same dances and dancers. The only difference is the intro, the finale, and the photography when the seasons are introduced. The introduction in 2004 is shorter and not acted out as much, but closing seems a bit smoother. The 2007 introduction and closing are more refined and the rendition of, "Go My Son", is the best. 2004 running time is about two hours and twenty minutes. I highly recommend either of these.

The 2001 version has more of the traditional feel to it, but is not as long as the latter versions. It has most of the same dances and some of the same dancers. I like the intro and background scenes best in this version and that it shows which season they are about to portray. The written and voice narration is the same, but without the photography. It has the same songs in the finale, which are presented well. The sound is not quite as good, but the camera shots are a bit better (shows more of the dancers). The Polynesian presentation is not as good (mainly costumes). The running time for this VHS is about One and a half hour. The overall presentation is not as refined as the 2004 & 2007, but the dances are slightly more exciting and vivacious at times.
