Product Description

The Strangler-1964-black and white-fullscreen- Victor Buono gives a frightening performance as a serial killer who preys mostly on young nurses. Every time he commits a murder, he fondles one of the dolls that he wins from a local arcade. Buono plays Leo Kroll, a man with a deep hatred for his sickly, but verbally abusive mother (played by Ellen Corby, who played Grandma Walton). His hatred and inadequacies make him murderous, but clever. The police are baffled. Can they catch this fiend before he strikes again? The Devil's Commandment-1956-black and white-widescreen-English dubbed- Young girls are turning up murdered in Paris. The evil and ancient Duchess du Grand is using the victims to keep herself young. This is done with the aid of a mad scientist in her employ and his henchman. Once again, the police are baffled, however reporter Pierre Lantin takes a special interest in the case and vows to find the murderer. Oddly enough, the evil duchess is keeping herself young because she is in love with Pierre. Who will be the next victim in this gothic horror tale?

This dvd has 2 movies of the horror genre, similar in some respects, very different in others. First, Vitor Buono, on of the great character actors, plays a deranged serial killer obsessed with dolls. Like Norman Bates, Buono's character has a lot of issues with his mother. His mother is played by the same actress who played the Walton's grandma. She lays a lot of guilt trips on poor Victor, no doubt contributing to his murder spree,
Then there's The Devil's Commandment, or I Vampiri. This is a dubbed Italian film I believe, about a woman who remains young with the aid of some young female victims and a couple of mad scientists. Soon, the vitim's bodies turn up, leading to a police investigation. Fun scary stuff, both these films -if you like your horror old school.
