This tutorial covers both Vegas Movie Studio + DVD 6 & 7 includeing the platinum version. It is a teriffic time saver and unless you have a fair amount of experance with editing software it is invalueable. It visually unlocks the how and why's that frankly would take the begenner many hours to figure out. HDV, DV editing, color correction and DVD authoring are clearly described along with too many other features to describe, and you can follow along step buy step and be useing most of the extensive features in a few hours. For me their is nothing like the "show me method" to learning. And that is what this does. As valuable as the software itself.

The All-Round Reduced Personality [VHS] Review

First things first: Edda is a feminist. Do not be afraid. She does not push an 'agenda.' She merely presents one woman's struggle reconciling an intense commitment to her integrity as a fiercely independent artist, with the basic needs of survival and child-rearing. Edda, played by the film's writer AND director Helke Sander, is a woman who obeys her instincts and refuses to capitulate to the standard of what her contemporaries in 1970s revitalized Berlin believe 'feminine' art should aspire to. She merely wants to be permitted to do what she does well- photojournalism -and not be penalized for her gender in the process. As the film progresses, this demand becomes increasingly elusive- her single parent status, her city government's attitude toward her socially critical work, and the pittance she is forced to live on all bear down on her.
Sander's film is not all bleakness and despair, however. This is quite a charming film. Narrated in first person by Edda, we get a stream-of-consciousness-style experience of her daily ruminations and artistic processes. She is immediately compelling and wonderfully acted by Sander, who crafted a truly wonderful gem. I would especially recommend this film to independent female artists and photographers. To be noted- it's shot in black and white and the cinematography is profoundly beautiful- known for its heavily graffitied walls, Berlin becomes part dreamscape, part realist vision of the prototypical late-20th century city in an era of post-modernism and urban alienation. Simply put, it's compelling. For fans of great cinematography, feminists, artists, and photographers/photojournalists, or anyone who's up for something a little more understated and thoughtful than the average fare, this film will burn itself into your visual memory- in a GOOD way. Unfairly dismissed by a number of critics, Two Minute Warning is an absorbing contemplation of the phenomenon of violence. Based on a novel by George LaFountaine, the story concerns an anonymous (and, until the very end, faceless) sniper perched above the scoreboard at a championship football game in Los Angeles. His lack of identity and unstated motivation is key to the film's air of cautionary fable, in which the killer's rage is one end of a continuum that includes many different kinds of violence among numerous characters: emotional withdrawal, police brutality, subtle racism, chips on various shoulders. Produced in 1976, the movie has all the hallmarks of the decade's vogue for disaster flicks: an ensemble cast, a web of story lines, and a lot of people contained in one place where something awful happens. But it is also something more: a successful exercise in plastic storytelling, a clever interweaving of a dozen discrete subplots with a mix of documentary and original action footage. The explosiveness of the football game itself becomes a refrain of ritualized mayhem in director Larry Peerce's patchwork film, but without beating us over the head with its metaphorical obviousness. Two Minute Warning may not be a great or classic work, but it is far more than the sum of its many parts and does leave a lasting impression. --Tom Keogh

NEW Two Minute Warning (DVD) Review

Filmed in and around the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, this often absurd but always entertaining thriller will be enjoyed by those like me who have an affection for '70s action/disaster movies like "Airport", and the many that followed it.

This like the other films follows the usual formula in the first half by giving us a glimpse into the lives of the participants, which the net of fate reels in for the grand finale, and Charlton Heston and John Cassavetes have a slew of excellent actors to back them in these many parts, like Martin Balsam, Beau Bridges, Gena Rowlands, and even Walter Pidgeon as a pickpocket.

The plot starts with an unidentified sniper killing a cyclist from a hotel window, and then moving to a rooftop location in the stadium, where a championship football game will be played to a sold-out crowd. One of the more realistic parts of the film is how the screaming, cheering crowd is oblivious of what is happening around them (some of it amusing if one has a dark sense of humor), as I'm sure would be the case if this event occurred in real life.

In our age of terrorism as the "war of our time", films like this spark the imagination, and make one wonder how this sort of situation would be dealt with in a crowded stadium; there's no doubt that chaos and mayhem would be the inevitable result.

Another interesting aspect is how times have changed in 30 years as far as security for the president and other officials; in the last few decades, one of the things that has changed the most in the world is the size of its governments, and films like this bring that fact into sharp focus.

Fantastic cinematography by Gerald Hirschfeld in the last part of the film, a score by Charles Fox that adds to the tension, and fast-paced direction by Larry Peerce make this a good film for rainy weekends and '70s disaster fans. It received a 1976 Oscar nomination for Best Editing, and total running time is 115 minutes.

At long last, Justice has been done! Synapse has spared no expense in bringing the awsome Deadly Spawn out from its dank, dark basement and onto your television in all its fetid glory. Never has the Spawn looked so good. What is nice to see is that the transfer, although sharp has managed to strike a balance between cleaning up the blips and bleeding colours but still retaining the grimy and dark tone of the film. As well, the DVD features some cool extra's including a comic style prequel which was really cool and would make a movie unto itself. Of course, the prequel idea would require a budget, which the original certainly did not have. This makes it all the more amazing Mr Bohus. and gang delivered the film they did on $25,000 measly bucks.

It starts in the woods as two campers on a hill see something fall from the sky. Is it a ping pong ball? Nope, its a meteor carrying its deadly occupant to earth. Of course, they have to investigate and if the spawn was an athiest, he surely grew tired of the one guys repeated invokations of god. He is quickly dispatched, his flesh tearing with all the sound of so much styrofoam. From there, the creature takes up residence in a basement where it becomes an unwelcome uncle Tom, wreaking havoc on the memebers of the house.

This film is a lot of fun, gore and good old fashioned monster goodness rolled into one. The creature is a throwback to the days before CGI ruined the breed.

This is the defintive version of the film the way it should be seen. Fans of monster films no longer have any excuses to keep this one out of their collection.

The front cover says that there are two versions on the DVD. There are not. And, the film has been cut in two places! The key scene (where the mother dies in the bath) is one scene that is not shown! On the back cover, it says 'Digitally Remastered' but, again, it is not! It is a very poor copy from a VHS! All of this is totally dishonest and it is against the law for any company or individual to give such a false description. Those consumers in America who have bought it should complain to the relevant legal body in America about "Substance", the label who have released this atrocious DVD. I wouldn't be surprised if it was one individual copying the film in a back room! I am in England and so don't know where to complain. Anyone who bought it should, like myself, get your money back! DO NOT BUY THIS TERRIBLE, ILLEGAL DVD!

The 1986 World Cup in Mexico was one of the best world cups in history and this video with its great music brings back the greatest moments of the world cup that saw Diego Maradona winning the cup at the peak of his career as the greatest soccer player that time. The music arrangement for the video was nicely done and the song Me Das Cada Dia Mas was a perfect finale.

The sad thing is there's no DVD version of this video and have been waiting for ages for it. Don't know when it will be produced into DVD... or maybe never. Let's hope soon someone will do it & sell it here in Amazon.
