While the movie is certainly worthy of praise and is a very excellent sequel to the first one, my review will be focusing on what now has become a monumental case of false advertising about getting a "Digital Copy" product. To be fair to the movie, I did give this a 5 star rating. There are other excellent descriptions of the movie already published under reviews so I am focusing on the product.

What you are getting with this and any other "Ultraviolet" product is NOT a digital copy. You don't get a copy of anything. All you get is the right to create an account to access the servers of the so called "Ultraviolet" system. Hence, if you are at an airport, you get the joy of using your data plan to capacity (and paying actual additional dollars if you have exceeded capacity) only to realize that while on the plane, you have no access to your purported digital copy. This is one of the biggest scams in the digital age. Advertising to let you think that you are getting a "copy" of a movie, when all you get is access to a web site, when it is up, using your own internet bandwidth and the dollars that go along with it. If consumers don't fight this severe advertising deception, soon true digital copies will be a thing of the past and you will be stuck with Bluray vs. iTunes. Buyer beware. Stand up to Ultraviolet and don't let them ruin the digital copy experience. We are all paying good money for these. The least we could get in return is a digital copy to take with us, legally on a plane ride or traveling otherwise.

Again, remember, all you get is access to the Ultraviolet website with no guarantee of its continued existence. That is not getting a copy of anything at all. Just a promise that as of today, you will be able to access a web site owned by a greedy conglomerate of movie studios who want to prevent you from having a portable copy of the movie so they don't have to share any profit with companies like Apple.

I saw this movie at the Mill Valley Film Festival and the stereotypically highbrow crowd that had packed the theatre howled with laughter throughout. Even those few who have never seen "The Sopranos" praised the right-on-target acting of John Fiore and Vincent Curatola. If you want over-the-top, delicious humor, ask your local video store to order this movie, or just pick it up here.

As a Spock's Beard and Transatlantic fan, I was curious when Testimony the CD came out. I thoroughly enjoyed it. If you liked the CD, you'll absolutely love the DVD. The layered, textured sound is brought to the stage in a masterful way in this DVD. Supported by a superb group of musicians (including the phenomenal Mike Portnoy of the progressive band Dream Theater), Neal Morse sings his "testimony" detailing how he went through the rock and roll thing and other adventures to a saving faith in Jesus. The music is beautiful and the lyrics are straight from the heart. His eight man ensemble includes an electric cello player, a saxophone player, Portnoy, Morse, a bassist, another keyboardist, a guitar player, and a gentelman who plays the guitar, mandolin, violin and flute. The overall effect is astounding. There is also a one hour home video documentary of the tour. What I found most touching was Neal's candid sharing of his faith and how his daughter's medical condition brought him to his faith. He openly discusses his faith in Christ and how it has changed his life. It is refreshing to see his unapologetic proclamation of what God has done for him in his life and how he now wants to share that with others. The DVD has outstanding musicianship, great mutiple camera angles and an uplifting message. If you like progressive rock and want to see how one man's spiritual quest brought him peace, this DVD will be something you'll watch again and again.

Croupier [IMPORT] Review

I am a Clive Owen fan and first saw Croupier in the theatre when it was released and I have been eager to own a copy on DVD ever since. I just bought the DVD listed above and to my complete disgust, this version of Croupier has been both edited for content and formatted to fit the television screen. The content editing is so severe that it leaves the story without a plausable ending. I was so disappointed because Croupier is indeed a five star story and I had waited some time to get this film on DVD only to feel utterly .... DO NOT BUY THIS DVD...you will be sorely disappointed.
