An excellent series with accurate historical events. Sledge can't wait to do his part for the war effort and ultimately experiences the true cost of war, the loss of his humanity. Some people have said that it is hard to follow the series because the 1st Marine Div. moves around so much, hence the term "island hopping campaign". But that is exactly what they did in reality. They are our greatest generation. If you ever meet a vet, shake their hand and thank them.

Tributes galore from co-workers and friends, including Debbie Reynolds, Alice Faye, Jane Withers, Carol Burnett and tributes from fans and friends, including Hugh Heffner, Mike Levitt and Bob Isoz. However, I was disappointed that daughters Vicki or Jessica did not contribute to this glowing tribute.Rare early shots of Betty (in films like "Happy Days, 1930) right up to her last screen appearance in 1955. Best moments are of Grable visiting vets hospitals during WW2, and having fun with servicemen at the Hollywood Canteen. Also rare footage of Grable between scenes, out-takes, and having fun at an army base with Rita Hayworth.Her romantic affairs are also well represented, including Jackie Coogan and George Raft. Biography - Grace Kelly: Hollywood Princess Review

The DVD took 6 weeks to arrive so I have only just recently watched it. I thought it was very good and I would recommend it to others. However, it would be nice to get another updated version giving more information so that the late Prince Rainier's death is included in the DVD with more information about the late Prince Rainier's life and Princess Grace's children and grandchildren.

I think so much more information could be told giving another 60 minutes to a new updated version of the DVD. A lot more could be told on a 2 hour DVD.

I love Chabrol, but these 8 DVDs (which include some of his best-known films) are an utter disgrace. The transfers are so low-grade that the images squirm and squiggle up and down. Even the scratchiest videotapes are more watchable than these. I feel completely ripped off. Even more, I'm furious that a great director like Chabrol should have to suffer in the hands of unscrupulous merchants like the ones responsible for these abominations. AVOID!!!
