Puss In Boots -3D- Review

I just got back from watching this movie in the theater and let me tell you that it was utterly fantastic from start to finish. The sheer genius of the people who put this story together is deserving of all the accolades that could be bestowed upon them. The story was utterly impeccable and the combination of the the old fairy tales, the Shrek films, and most importantly the behaviors of all our beloved pet cats are interwoven seamlessly into this story. I couldn't believe all the ways that they found to make this movie so memorably funny and endearing to the audience (and especially us cat lovers) that it was a really fun movie to see.

Now if you are familiar with your childhood fairy-tales, the basic premise of the movie is that Puss (in Boots) along with Humpty Alexander Dumpty, and Ms. Kitty South-Paws start an adventurous trek to obtain some magic beans in order to provide access to the goose that lays the golden eggs. And yes, there just may be a beanstalk involved.

I really can't tell you any details about this movie without risking spoiling a scene or two, but I will let you know that Humpty Alexander Dumpty, voiced by The Hangover star Zach Galifianakis, is a pivotal character in this movie along with Jack and Jill. Although I think you may find yourself quite surprised by the movie version of these two compared to their pail of water exploits from the fairy tales. Another new character is Ms. Kitty Soft-Paws voiced by the beautiful Salma Hayek, who by the way does an outstanding job as Puss' love interest/nemesis.

Now I am not going to post any spoilers, but I will tell you that I found one particular scene so funny that it is my most cherished moment in the movie and it involves a shot-glass full of milk in the first bar scene. And that is all I am going to say about that, but be sure and look for it. Perhaps you will even think it was as funny as I did.

This is a totally awesome movie for kids of all ages, including us bigger kids. Definitely take the kids to see this movie and make sure they stay quiet as you won't want to miss any of the great lines.

i have been waiting for season 4 to come out on dvd for months and months. Living in Australia, the series won't air on television until January 2005. As soon as i saw it was available , i snapped it up and it arrived about 1 week ago. It's so obvious that this particular edition i got was recorded onto a dvd burner straight from the showtime network,..the logo even appears on the bottom of the screen. A couple of the episodes had occasional audio and visual faults and overall the quality of the recording is about 75% of the official QAF dvd box sets. There appears to be quite a bit of pixellation with the image if you sit too close to the screen. If you are a junkie and need to see it as soon as possible,.then get this,.but if you can wait , you're probably better off waiting for the offical showtime network season 4 dvd box set.

Mutant X: Season Two Review

The storyline is just so creative and fresh , it will blow you away.You can clearly see that the writers and producers weren't afraid to take risks and try and find a new magic formula for addictive science fiction.Well they damn well found it.If you loved he old Star Trek style and want something to watch -other thn the millions of new copies of it thats eem to dominate television today, look no more.

This show has engaging, non stereotypical characters and combines fantasy with sci-fi ; magic with technology; superpowers with human weaknesses and more.The martial arts sequesnces are stunning , especially for a rookie company with not a lot of money to spend.Its a shame that it was cancelled, which just goes to show that nowadays networks aren't willing to spend on shows that may be different.

Perhaps we can save that by supporting great shows.Buy this disk set and watch the magic unfold.

"Criminal Lovers" shows a series of crimes committed in contemporary France with only minimal regard for the consequences. Alice (Natacha Regnier) is able to manipulate her weak-minded boyfriend Luc (Jeremie Renier) to avenge her honor against the claimed outrages of fellow student Said (Salim Kechiouche). Bloody revenge attained, they go on a small crime spree, later disposing of the body. Getting lost in the woods, they find the cabin of an unnamed trapper (Miki Manojlovic), who finds out more than Alice and Luc would like and who does not mind committing his own crimes on the others. Of course, Luc continues to think he loves Alice, but did she really prefer him to Selim, and what does Luc come to think of the trapper? The acting is pretty good. A number of strongly erotic segments help depict the motivations and move the film along. The film itself is fine, but the only extras are trailers for four other movies. There is no "making of", no commentary, no language choices, no info on the actors, and not even a hardcopy insert listing the eleven chapters. Gadjo dilo [VHS] Review

Gadjo Dilo is a wonderful meditation of the difference between the idealistic (or, on the other side, racist) arm's-distance view people of one culture can have of another and what it means to see others as yourself (or yourself as other). The great irony, of course, as a viewer of this film, is that you yourself are just a passing voyeur who consumes a bit of Rom culture for as long as its on the screen...then you return to the life you actually have, wherever you are. An absorbing story draws you in and gives you just a little taste of what it means to be Rom in modern times...and how it hasn't changed much over the centuries.
